A Conversation With...
“I’d like to have a conversation with..my grandpa. He passed away like a few years ago, and like.. it was kind of an awkward relationship, so I guess I’d like to talk to him again. Probably mostly about him, mostly about his life. I don’t know. Like I said, it was kind of like an awkward relationship, so I guess I’d like try to overcome that. Because, I think he led a pretty interesting life. He was in World War II and did a lot of cool stuff. He had like eleven kids and lived in the Philippines. I’d just ask him what that was like for him. And then, like towards the end of his life, he couldn’t speak or move, so I’d probably ask him what that was like for him.”

My Story
“When I was like, about six, and my brother was eight, my brother he somehow managed to like lock one of the bathrooms. So like he was outside of it, but he managed to lock it, so that like no one could get in. But we have like three bathroom in our house— it’s not a problem. But then I was like, “Oh my god, this is the perfect chance— I’ve never been camping— this is the perfect chance to pee outside!” So then, my brother was like, “Oh my God, you’re right”. So, we like dug a hole in my mom’s like, vegetable garden. And then my dad.. [who] didn’t even know what was going on— he was trying to unlock the bathroom. He was trying to figure that out and going “Oh we have two bathrooms— it’s not a big deal.” But so then, he was trying to unlock the door, and he comes outside. My brother and I— we’d finished like digging the hole and then my brother’s like pissing in it and I’m like squatting by it, about to like, pee, and then my dad just like walks outside— through the screen door— and is like “WHAT ARE YOU DOING?” And then, we just look up at him, and we’re like, “We wanted to go camping!” And then he’s like, “Camping? There’s two other bathrooms!” And then, he made us refill the hole, and come back inside. And eventually, he got it unlocked.”
